Wine and Mediterranean diet, debate at Expo
“Sicilian gastronomy and the Mediterranean diet: regional cuisine and health benefits”. It is the title of the debate organized and promoted by the Italian Fernando Santi Institute at Expo Milan which will be attended by the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily.
The event, which will be held on Saturday 26 September, is part of the series of events of the "Cultivating culture" program. A series of cultural events which in recent months has seen the creation of five stages, including conferences, seminars and cultural days dedicated to cooperation with foreign countries, such as South America, Africa and Asia. Having almost reached the halfway point of this important initiative, it will offer visitors to Cascina Triulza eight more prestigious events, under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, under the patronage and with the contribution of the Lombardy Region.
The debate involving the IRVO will be held from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm, again in the spaces of Cascina Triulza. Also present was SISTE, the Italian Society of Sciences applied to medicinal plants and health products. In the afternoon, from 2pm to 6pm, the seminar entitled "Wine in the Mediterranean diet: impacts on health and elimination of sulphites from wine production" will follow. At the end of the seminar, the activities will move to the BioMediterranean Cluster where the theme of Sicilian gastronomy, already developed in the morning, will be taken up again at the same time as the tasting of typical Sicilian products. Among the guests, representatives of the Experimental Station for the Food Preservation Industry (SSICA) of Parma and Angri, of the IRVO - Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily, of the OICS - Interregional Cooperation and Development Observatory, of the Botanical Garden of the University of Palermo, the APRE Agency for the Promotion of European Research, the IDOS Study and Research Centre, the ALPAA Association of Environmental Agri-Food Producers Workers, the CIA Italian Confederation of Farmers, the University of Milan Bicocca, the Institute Italian Fernando Santi Regional Headquarters Emilia Romagna, of the Department of Civil Protection, Legality, Youth and Demographic Services of the Municipality of Bologna.
