Sicily Terra Mediterranea, 2012 edition
You have until December 1st 2012 to participate in the new edition of the Sicilia Terra Mediterranea Award. The competition, promoted by the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily, which looks at the image of Sicily's wine industry, its wine-growing and olive-growing territories through media communication activities in European Union countries and beyond.
Enhance the elements of identity and improve its image on foreign markets. This is essentially the leitmotif of the Sicilia Terra Mediterranea Award which enjoys great success and great results every year. This means facilitating the relations of the Sicilian wine system with the world of international general and sector information. But not only that, aiming at the communication of Sicilian wine and its long supply chain including catering and all the actors who, in various capacities, contribute to the valorisation of local products and the food and wine culture of Sicily, as protagonists of a lifestyle in harmony with the environment and the well-being of the individual, where the Mediterranean diet constitutes the expression universally recognized as an intangible heritage of humanity. For this edition, journalists and writers of any nationality who have disseminated the topic between 1 December 2011 and 1 December 2012 are eligible for the Award. The works must refer to the territory of the vine, wine and Sicilian olive oil and the naturalistic and historical-cultural heritage of Sicily. Participation in the Prize is free. Participants must send their entries by 1 December 2012 to the Organizing Secretariat of the Competition (Regional Institute of Wines & Oils of Sicily
– via Libertà, 66, 90143 – Palermo). It is necessary to unequivocally prove the dissemination of the works by the closing date set by the announcement, also by means of a copy of the newspaper or periodical containing the journalistic report or DVD of the radio-television service. The works received will not be returned. The works in a foreign language must be accompanied by a translation into Italian or, secondly, into English. The works presented must also be accompanied by a short curriculum vitae of the competitor. For works published with acronyms or pseudonyms, participants must attach documentation certifying the author's identity.
