IRVOS 2012 programme, meeting in Marsala
A very intense year is looming in terms of the activities and initiatives that in 2012 will involve the Regional Institute of Vine and Wine, or perhaps it would now be better to say IRVOS, or Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily. In the vein of projects aimed at internationalization and increasingly advanced communication which characterized the Institute's activity in 2011 and which led to the achievement of significant milestones and successes, in 2012 the activity will further intensify.
Among the main objectives is to integrate extra virgin olive oil into the Institute's activities. Together with wine, oil constitutes one of the pillars of Sicilian agriculture and economy. Tomorrow, Tuesday 20 December at 10 am, a meeting will be held in Marsala during which the 2012 program of activities will be illustrated and where we can discuss. Among other objectives, in 2012 IRVOS will implement the system of relations with companies based on the Full Service contractual approach. While the 2012/2014 program will be dense and intense and will aim primarily at valorising Sicilian wines and oils through marketing intelligence, training, communication and promotion. To the certification and control of Designation of Origin wines and Sicilian table oils and olives. To research, innovation and dissemination and to the valorisation of the food and wine of the Sicilian territories through direct sales, wine tourism, Wine in moderation culture and the promotion of the Mediterranean diet. Five substantial points on which the broad IRVOS program will focus, including projects, fairs, masters and important events in the sector in conjunction with the already launched aggregation strategy which has led to the establishment of producer associations such as Providi, Vibiosi and Vitesi.
