Olio Officina Festival, IRVO and Sicilian companies

oliofficinaOff to the Olio Officina Festival. IRVO together with some oil companies on the island will participate in one of the most important and recognized showcases for extra virgin olive oil.

Olio Officina Festival, in its fourth edition, is not just an event but a cultural project through which we want to reformulate the usual approach to fats, and more generally to condiments, in the kitchen. A place therefore of high culture and discussion, "and for this reason - adds the general director of IRVO, Lucio Monte - we are keen to be present with some of the Sicilian oil companies that have decided to join. Our goal is to help promote the production of quality extra virgin olive oil."

The creator of Olio Officina, an avant-garde sector event which will open its doors in Milan on Thursday 21 January at the Palazzo delle Stelline, is the journalist and writer, as well as oleologist, Luigi Caricato: “I believe being at the avant-garde is fundamental today, especially in a world like that of oil which still appears closed and in several cases even immobile. – he comments – Being at the forefront is also a way to be ahead of everyone, arriving before everyone else, thus also taking on a guiding role. To be truly effective, tradition must be able to live into the future."

Olio Officina Festival develops over two intense double-track days: on one side the professional public, on the other the general public; with a rich program made up of show cooking, round tables, dialogues, interviews, cooking schools, themed buffets, guided tastings, tasting sessions, short tasting courses for beginners, exhibitions, video screenings and, in the evening, a cultural lounge , literary, musical and artistic, with theatrical performances, concerts, book presentations, meetings with people of great cultural importance. Enthusiasts, chefs, buyers, channel operators Ho.Re.Ca, gourmets, researchers and obviously oil producers, will be the professionals involved in addition to the sector press.
