Doc Sicilia, certifications double
914. This is what the certifications of the DOC wine produced in Sicily in the first 7 months of 2015 amount to. “A record,” comments the satisfied extraordinary commissioner of the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily, Antonino Di Giacomo Pepe, “the the figure would in fact be double compared to that of the same period last year".
In fact, it is IRVO that certifies the DOC Sicilia and the requests come from the wineries themselves. 458 requests had been received up to 13 August and correspond to approximately 150 thousand hectolitres.
