New IRVO Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Irvo, the regional wine and oil institute, took office last September 15th at Palazzo Orleans. The new governance, appointed by the regional council, is made up of the president Sebastiano Di Bella and the components Leonardo Taschetta And Giuseppe Aleo. Present at the event were the president of the Region Nello Musumeci, the councilor for Agriculture Edy Bandiera and the director of Irvo Alberto Pulizzi.
«From now – said Musumeci – a new phase begins. The Institute must return to being a precious support tool for Sicilian companies, after years in which it was abandoned to its fate. For this relaunch, my government has chosen a president who represents a guarantee of his seriousness and competence».
Councilor Bandiera recalled the several million euro deficit and debts with the Verona Fair due to commitments undertaken by the Region at Vinitaly in the past and not honoured. «We gave up the Institute in bonis and – underlined the councilor – restarted product certifications, thus restoring their dignity».
«The mission of the organization – added Di Bella – it is the one that derives from its Statute: research, experimentation, dissemination and promotion. In pursuing them, not only will the collaboration of all the actors of the two supply chains, public and private, be sought, but also that of the bodies interested in contributing to consolidating the reputation of the "Brand Sicily" and making wine and oil two significant ambassadors of Sicily».
