The Nicosia family's passion for wine has distant origins: it was 1898 when the current owner's great-grandfather opened the first wine shop in Trecastagni, on the eastern slopes of Etna. For many years the Nicosia's main activity was that of discoverers of Sicilian wines worthy of being promoted and marketed. Today Carmelo Nicosia, with the help of his children and his young collaborators, leads a lively wine-growing reality with vineyards on Etna and in Vittoria, in the Ragusa area, with respect for the territory and its traditions, and a large number of labels present throughout the national territory and in the main foreign markets, in modern organized distribution as well as in the traditional catering channel. Valuing the most suitable areas of Sicily, promoting the finest native vines and the international varieties best adapted to the island territory, combining tradition and innovation to produce quality wine accessible to all is the philosophy of Cantine Nicosia, represented at the highest level by the selection of great Sicilian wines with denomination of origin and monovarietal Fondo Filara, intended exclusively for restaurants and wine bars.

From Palermo: From the A19 PA-CT motorway, take the Catania ring road; take the PAESI ETNEI exit and follow the road signs for TRECASTAGNI.
From Trapani: From the A29 TP-PA motorway, continue towards the Palermo ring road, after which you must merge onto the A19 PA-CT; take the Catania ring road, continue until the PAESI ETNEI exit.
