Reported among the itineraries of the Cities of Wine, Contrada Sirignano, owned by the Marchesi de Gregorio family since 1730, is located in an area of Sicily naturally and strongly suited to the cultivation of vines: the Belice Valley, in the extreme south of the territory of the Monreale DOC and at the center of the Alcamo DOC. The cultivation of the vineyards and olive groves is strictly organic, in a perfect balance between technological innovation, respect for the artisan tradition and the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The company puts health and respect for the environment first, not using fertilizers and pesticides of chemical origin and completely excluding the use of synthetic products and genetically modified organisms. The idea is to exploit the natural fertility of the soil by encouraging it with limited interventions. Our products are therefore free of residues from pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The fertility of the soil is safeguarded by using organic fertilizers and legume green manure: the aim is to maintain and improve the structure of the soil and the percentage of organic substance.
The cellar, located in the basement of the Baglio di Sirignano, enjoys climatic conditions of perfect thermal insulation all year round, thanks to the centuries-old forest that surrounds it and its exposure to the North. A favorable context for winemaking that guarantees the production of excellent wines. The company carefully selects the best qualities of native grapes, such as Catarratto, Grillo, Inzolia, Perricone and Nero d'Avola, and renowned international varieties, such as Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.
Excellent IGT Sicilia and DOC Monreale wines characterize the 5 labels of the Sirignano line, with a young character and produced with grapes vinified in purity. Teodora, Parco Reale and Gregorio MAXIMO are the Elisir di Sirignano, mature wines with great structure and balance thanks to the refinement in Allier oak barriques.
