The genesis of Sicily PGI oil. An island, a territory, an identity
The application for registration of the long-awaited Protected Geographical Indication has now been published several months ago in the Official Journal of the European Union. How is Sicilian extra virgin olive oil characterized and distinguished? How did we arrive at the production specification and what are the most significant points? When tasted, meanwhile, the oil presents itself with a singular fruity flavour, with organoleptic descriptors of grass, tomato and artichoke.

The first IGP Sicilian oils in a guided and reasoned tasting
We were used to PDO oil products from Sicily, now there is also a protected geographical indication that unites the whole region. How do the first certified regional oils present themselves when tasted? With what singular fruity flavour, with what sensorial descriptors?
