Lessons on foreign markets, the next ones in Catania

lab_marsala

Attention to foreign markets is one of the main aspects on which IRVOS has focused its attention in recent years. The first course entitled "Wine and foreign markets: strategy and communication" held in Canicattì, at the institute's technical-information desk, was successfully concluded in April. A success that led to the decision, strongly supported by director Dario Cartabellotta, to organize and set up other courses that addressed the export theme.

“The institute's activity aimed at training, in this case the sales managers, of Sicilian wineries continues in this way – explains Lucio Monte, head of the technical-scientific area. In fact, more and more skills are becoming necessary today in the panorama of foreign markets".

A course has just ended in Marsala, at the IRVOS laboratory of which Pino Russo is responsible. Twenty-one participating wineries, namely Planeta, Assovini Sicilia, Donna di Coppe, Cantina sociale Europa, Stoccatello, Azienda Agricola Cossentino, Possente Vini, Azienda Di Pietra Paola Maria, Tenuta Gorghi Tondi, Azienda Inghilleri, Enologica Cassarà, Azienda Mantia, Martinez, Azienda Agricola Duca della Verdura, Alessandro di Camporeale, Fici, Cantine Europa, Terre di Shemir, Azienda Giambalvo, Val di Mazara. “A great satisfaction – comments the oenologist Gianni Giardina who organized the courses – the lessons were even more substantial and more interesting. There was also the opportunity to practice through simulations, to discover specific websites and to become aware of very important statistical data”. This is how we prepare for the next course which will be held in Catania, from 21 to 22 September. The lessons are always held by Stefano Raimondi, of the National Institute for Foreign Trade, who has divided the program into three parts: a first part dedicated to the Italian offer with a focus on the production model and statistical analysis. A second part, very broad, on foreign markets and finally a third part, also very broad, on instruments. The point of view of the global consumer, communication, the main commercial channels or even international import regulations is then addressed.
