Interview with the IRVO President
The new organizational structure ofRegional Institute of Wine and Oil, the wine market at the time of COVID and the bets for the future of the sector. These are some of the contents of the interview with the President of IRVO Sebastiano Di Bella, who was a guest of the ilSicilia.it studios.
Di Bella was in the past Secretary General of the ARS and is a wine producer, a mix of administration and experience in the field which can be a starting point for the new role: "My experience in Ars, especially in the early years, was linked to agriculture and production activities – says Di Bella – On the other hand, I have had a company that produces wine for 20 years and therefore I am personally involved in the dynamics of the sector: how the harvests, climate trends and how the Sicilian wine market is doing“Di Bella said.
The year of Di Bella's settlement is certainly a special year, given the emergency coronavirus: “Let's hope this period ends soon – states the former general secretary of the ARS – This year has especially seen a fall in sales among restaurants, hotels, wine bars and therefore in the channel where there is greater added value for companies“.
L'IRVO he is an instrumental subject who works with the mission that politics gives him and with the money that politics gives him. But as far as we are concerned, we will try to meet the needs of Sicilian wineries and we will work for promotion on particular markets, those where there is greater interest in Sicilian wine”.
