Inoveno, the technological innovations project for Sicilian wine production promoted by IRVOS, is coming to an end. The final conference will be held on Friday morning, March 14, at 10 am at Palazzo Steri in Palermo. The project, born with the aim of improving the competitiveness of Sicilian wine companies, after more than two years is reaping the "fruits" that will be made known during the meeting.

The Inoveno project, financed by the European Community under measure 124 of the "Sicily Rural Development Program 2007/2013", was conducted in Sicily by the technicians of the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily through the application of new oenological protocols. Six Sicilian wineries are involved, namely: Alto Belice, Colomba Bianca, Europa, Patria, Primavera and Tenuta Gatti.

The achieved objective of the project was the transfer of new technologies, protocols and new knowledge from the world of research, conducted in the vineyards, laboratories and experimental cellar of the Institute, to that of Sicilian wine companies. All aimed at obtaining high quality wines capable of attacking the foreign market and being more competitive. The meeting will be moderated by Alessandro Torcoli, director of the national sector magazine "Civiltà del bere". Among others, the general director of IRVOS, Lucio Monte, the regional councilor for Agriculture Dario Cartabellotta and the Rector of the University of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla, will be present. The Inoveno project had as partners the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Sicily, the Research Consortium on biological risk in agriculture, the Center for Economic and Social Research for the South, Assovini Sicilia, HTS Enologia, the Barbera Enochemical Center and UBIQ srl.
