Giorgio Calabrese, new commissioner of Irvos
“I am happy and proud of the nomination I received from the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily”. Nutritionist Giorgio Calabrese, new commissioner of IRVOS, begins with these words. Appointment decided by the regional councilor for Agriculture, Dario Cartabellotta.
“The Institute has worked well up to now, great strides have been made in favor of a sector which today has carved out a place of excellence not only in Italy but also in the world. – states Calabrese who also holds the role of president of ONAV, the National Organization of Wine Tasters, and adds –I will therefore work in this direction by contributing what is most relevant to me, namely the scientific contribution and that which concerns communication”.
Two complementary and substantial aspects that have always characterized Calabrese's "personality": a person of science and at the same time a great communicator. Calabrian therefore, also Sicilian, in fact he was born in Rosolini in the province of Syracuse, he is happy to hold the new and important position: “Above all – he concludes – because IRVOS is the only specific body for the sector in the whole of Italy. We must therefore be proud and carry forward this great project."
