Di Giacomo becomes extraordinary commissioner

He took office this morning, Wednesday 10 September,
the new extraordinary commissioner of IRVOS. He is Antonino Di Giacomo for whom, after a period in which he held the role of commissioner ad acta at the institution, the appointment decree has now arrived signed by the president of the Region, Rosario Crocetta. And we look at the objectives to be achieved, especially in terms of "restyling" and strengthening.

“The strengthening of Certification and Research services – said Di Giacomo during the press conference held at the body's premises – and the implementation of assistance services to companies throughout the Region's wine and olive growing sector will be in first place." Because in addition to the wine sector, IRVOS's commitment will be aimed in particular at the olive oil sector. In short, it will constitute another strong point, this is the objective. 

The general manager of the Department of Agriculture of the Department of Agriculture, Rosaria Barresi, present during the press conference together with other managers and the head of the councilor's cabinet, Parrinello, agreed. “IRVOS – said Barresi – is like a beautiful woman who every now and then needs to spend a few hours in a wellness centre. In short, it is a reality that is valid and which has so far brought positive and concrete results. We just need to aim at strengthening these qualities." It will be a team effort "that the intelligence present - continued Di Giacomo - and which so far has ensured that the organization has managed to carry out important projects and works in the wine field, have demonstrated their ability to do". The director of the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily, Lucio Monte, was present at the installation ceremony: "There are all the conditions to continue and improve what we have done so far", he stated.
