Biodiversity, conference in Perugia on Sicilian yeasts
Biodiversity: a topic that has increasingly come to the center of attention in recent years. The strategic role of biobanks as a reserve of biodiversity of naturalistic and biotechnological interest will be the topic that will be addressed during a study day organized by the Regional Observatory for Biodiversity of Perugia. Various experts have dissected it, including Daniele Oliva, research manager at IRVOS.
“An important participation – comments Oliva – is precisely in Perugia that for the first time they begin to work on yeasts”. This latter activity has been successfully undertaken in recent years by Dr. Oliva and his staff and which has led to results of a certain importance in the field of viticulture. Results that have been published in the most important scientific journals. “The economic potential of spontaneous microbial flora: the example of Sicilian oenology”, will be the theme of the report which will be treated by Dr. Olive.
The meeting will be held on Friday 7 December at Villa Fabri, home of the Biodiversity Observatory.
