Precision agriculture, Irvos in Spain
Researchers and technicians from all over the world gathered to discuss new challenges and new methodologies in precision agriculture. Among the participants also the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily which had the opportunity to present its work on the topic. The event, in its ninth edition, was held in Catalonia from 7 to 11 July at the Campus de Cappont of the University of Lleida.
International speakers were present representing the most important countries that lead the way on the topic of precision agriculture.
Numerous Chinese but also Americans, Australians and Brazilians and among Europeans, representatives of the countries in which precision agriculture is most practiced, namely Sweden, Germany, Holland, France, Spain, England. For Italy, in addition to Irvos, the Universities of Turin, Florence, Padua and Piacenza, the CRA and Ibimet CNR of Florence were present. In addition to the general topics, some in-depth analyzes concerned sensors, equipment for the variable rate application of products, guidance systems, robotics, decision support systems and data analysis. As well as discussions were held regarding irrigation, defense and precision nutrition.
