NEW INTERNATIONAL STOP FOR SICILY: IRVO PRESENT AT THE FINE WINE TOURISM MARKET PLACE IN SPAIN TO STRENGTHEN THE ISLAND'S POSITIONING AS EUROPEAN REGION OF GASTRONOMY 2025
Sicily continues its journey of sharing its food and wine heritage with a new destination in the heart of Europe
Sicily continues its journey of international promotion, putting the spotlight on its food and wine excellence. The IRVO – Regional Institute of Sicilian Wine and Oil – will be present from 5 to 6 March at the Fine Wine Tourism Market Place in Valladolid, Spain, bringing with it a prestigious representation of the sector. Together with the Institute, the Federation of Wine, Oil and Flavours Roads of Sicily will be present, which brings together seven thematic routes, Assovini Sicilia, the Voluntary Consortium for the protection of DOC Monreale wines and the Voluntary Consortium for the protection and promotion of DOC wines from the Island of Pantelleria.
An event with a strategic value that consolidates Sicily's positioning as the European Region of Gastronomy 2025, strengthening the link between wine, territory and experiential tourism. B2B meetings between exhibitors and international buyers are planned. The event will be an opportunity to learn about different marketing models through conferences, round tables and workshops and to discover the new opportunities in the wine tourism sector, comparing strategies and success stories from different countries.
IRVO's presence at the Spanish event is part of the broader vision of spreading the culture of Sicilian products and flavors in the national and international panorama, as the commissioner of the organization Giusi Mistretta recalls: «Also this year, IRVO supports the associations and consortia of the category in the promotion of wine tourism, bringing Sicily to the center of the international scene. The path started in recent months has been characterized by a strong push towards wine tourism, starting from the participation of the Consortia of protection at Be.come in Milan, with the project of the "100 Sicilies", and then continuing with the project "Essentia Sicily Taste&Travel. The goal is to contribute to the growth of companies in the sector and at the same time to enhance the beauty of our Island, its cultural and gastronomic traditions, having as a framework the recognition as European Region of Gastronomy 2025».
Participation in the international fair for the institute is an opportunity to create and strengthen important connections between international players in the sector that is part of a project to position the island in the European gastronomic panorama.
