Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, 5 Grand Gold Medal to Sicily

Five Grand Gold Medals for Sicily at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles - 2015 edition. Our island is the Italian region that received the highest number of this highest recognition at the "world wine championship", which took place this year. year in Jesolo.

“This is the Sicily that chooses quality and therefore manages to represent the island well in the world. – comments the Councilor for Agriculture, Nino Caleca – We have now understood that we must valorise these realities and thank them for their daily work”. And the extraordinary commissioner of the Regional Institute of Wine and Oil, Nino Di Giacomo, adds: “This result can only please us and fill us with pride. We are always on Sicily's side for quality wine and these victories testify to the value of a territory and its producers".

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was a success again this year. Three days of fast-paced tasting, with 55 commissions tasting over eight thousand wine samples from fifty countries.

Among those awarded the Grand Gold Medal also the CVA social winery of Canicattì with its Scialo 2012. “Realities like these – continues Di Giacomo – are to be emulated by the other Sicilian social wineries. This is in fact the formula that works and that will allow us to "survive" in this particular economic moment. After all, another local reality that works and that has demonstrated this for years is the Settesoli social winery which has managed, like CVA now, to create quality wines that stand out not only on the national but also international scene".
