Tenuta S.Michele is located on the eastern slopes of Etna, at an altitude of 500 m above sea level. The microclimate is characterized by strong temperature variations, which lead to a delay in the harvest. The soil is made up of sand of volcanic origin. The vineyards of Tenuta S.Michele are arranged in terraces around the cellar and the company center. The native Etna vines are cultivated: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Mantellato, Caricante, Catarratto, Moscatella and numerous French vines: Chardonnay, Caberenet Sauvignon, Sauvigono, Pinot Nero and Bianco.... In addition to the production of wine, we welcome numerous visitors to our hotel and in our restaurant combining tourist activities with promotional ones. Our company produces wines and olive oil in the “Tenuta Gelso” companies in Misterbianco (CT) and Tenuta la Francescana in Aprilia (LT). In our production strategy we favor our exclusive terroirs and the creativity that gives us the opportunity to obtain unique and innovative wines. In addition to wine, our company also produces "Nocellara dell`Etna" olive oil, jams and other typical products.
Guided tour of the cellar with explanation of the production process and wine tasting: €15
