The Vaccaro family, through the generations, has wisely preserved that culture linked to tradition and respect for nature.
The company was founded in 1970 by Mr. Vaccaro Giacomo, in the middle of the Belice valley, a short distance from the legendary Selinunte, in a small town called Salaparuta. A town marked by the earthquake that occurred in 1968, its name comes from the Paruta family, not because they were its founders, but because in 1507 they were able to add to the original name of “Sala” that of their family “Paruta”.
Gian since ancient times its territory had been inhabited by various populations, such as Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans who left traces of art and customs. The cultivation of vineyards was born thanks to the Phoenicians and subsequently modified by the Greeks, importing new vines to the island.
It is here that the company was born between past and present in a stunning setting among the green slopes dotted with vines, where the hills alternate and collide joyfully, in a competition between the mythological and poetic winds such as Scirocco, Maestrale, Ponente and Libeccio.
Salaparuta landscape tour with visit to the ruins of Salaparuta, Poggioreale and Gibellina. Guided tour of the vineyards and cellars total price € 10 each
